Careers
Careers is a J.B. Hunt website that gives an overview of all of the various job types at J.B. Hunt. It also explains the different programs, amenities, and perks of working at J.B.Hunt. Careers also provides access to view all of J.B. Hunt's current job listings.

The Problem
The original careers site was very difficult to navigate. Users had submitted feedback that it was difficult to find where to apply for a job. Also, the branding of the website did not align with the J.B. Hunt brand and their recently updated main website. Lastly, the website did not give any background or information about J.B. Hunt or the various positions J.B. Hunt offers.
The Value
-
The main value the updated Careers site provided was easier discovery of open job positions.
-
Updating the Careers site also provided the value of being able to read and understand a little bit about the position you would be applying for.
-
Lastly, updating the site provided consistent branding and cohesiveness across all of J.B. Hunt's websites.
The Process
Gathering Images and Direction
The first thing we did for this project was to establish a sitemap. I worked with the marketing team to gather all of various areas we were needing to highlight with the website. We then categorized everything so we could establish what would be our primary options in the header.

After establishing all of the areas we would be creating pages for, I worked with the marketing team to gather images for the website. The marketing team had some stock piled images that we could use for the website, but we were missing some headshots and specific onsite images. I help organize photoshoots for the headshots, and also went to various locations to take pictures for other sections of the website. Below are some of the images that I took that we used within the Careers site.

Design
For the design of the Careers site I worked closely with marketing, J.B. Hunt's legal team, and developers dedicated for this project. Since this site is an external site, the marketing team had to approve every direction. Outward facing designs must align with the J.B. Hunt brand, and it is the marketing teams job to ensure that whatever gets published is consistent with the brand they have created. I had to work closely with the legal team to get all text approved. The legal teams goal is to prevent anything that misleads, misrepresents, or could potentially incriminate J.B. Hunt. Lastly, working closely with the developers fostered great communication to allow us to discuss feasibility and keep our designs within the assigned scope of the project.
Production
The J.B. Hunt Careers site is now live and fully accessible. It has been live for over 3 years, some of the images and content have been adjusted to show changes at J.B. Hunt. However, the core of the design and a majority of the original images are still in use today. You can view the current Careers site by clicking the button below.
